The Huffington Post reports on Apple's release of iOS 4.2 for the iPad and iPhone:

The free iOS 4.2 upgrade will bring a host of new features to the iPad. These include:

    • Multitasking
    • The ability to create folders and sort apps into these folders
    • AirPlay, which enables users to wirelessly stream music, video, and photos from their iOS device to the Apple TV or speakers
  • AirPrint, which allows users to print wirelessly from their iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch
  • "Find My iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch)," a free feature that, according to Apple, "lets users easily locate a missing device on a map and have it display a message or play a sound."

As I don't have an iPad, nor do I have Apple TV, the most compelling part of this update for iPhone users would definitely be the "Find My iPhone" feature which also requires you to install the free app from the Apple iOS App Store on your iPhone.

The one quirk with the "Find My iPhone" feature is that if you lose your iPhone, you have to use another iPhone/iPad device which also has this app installed to find your phone. It would be helpful if there were also a program that could be installed on your PC or Apple home coputer for this purpose. But having lost my iPhone once, this new feature and app is definitely welcome.
